After years of battling addiction and spending time in prison himself, Bill encountered Jesus Christ in a moment that transformed his life forever. This spiritual awakening became the foundation of his addiction recovery and the calling God placed on his heart. Today, he brings the 12 Steps to Freedom message inside the prison system, teaching and preaching the program to men and women who are eager for change. He is currently working to have this program recognized as an official class, allowing inmates to earn credits that can shorten their sentences. Until that approval is finalized, he continues teaching, mentoring, and sharing his testimony behind the walls and wherever God opens doors. He also speaks at churches, schools, and recovery groups, spreading the message that no one is too far gone for God to redeem. Through his workbook, outreach, and upcoming podcast, his mission is simple: to return to the places he once lived in darkness—and bring the light of Jesus to those still struggling.

Beth brings strength, compassion, and decades of faithfulness to the 12 Steps to Freedom board. Raised in challenging circumstances, Beth found Christ at a young age and carried her Bible everywhere she went. A dedicated member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia since age fifteen, she has built a long career in education, rising above adversity to retire as a respected teacher. Through her experiences and those of people close to her, Beth gained firsthand understanding of addiction recovery, the challenges associated with it, and the impact of incarceration on families. Her wisdom, steady faith, and heart for people make her a valuable part of this ministry's mission.

Susan brings a powerful combination of lived experience, resilience, and compassion to the board. Having overcome her own battle with alcoholism, she understands firsthand the challenges of addiction recovery, the courage required to seek change, and the daily commitment needed to pursue lasting freedom through Christ, often reflected in the 12 Steps to Freedom. As a mother who raised three children on her own, Susan has walked through hardship with strength and determination. She also knows the emotional weight families carry when a loved one is incarcerated—the fear, uncertainty, and hope that coexist. Her personal journey gives her a deep connection to our mission and a unique empathy for both individuals in recovery and the families standing beside them. Today, Susan is a shining example of restoration, integrity, and perseverance. She uses her story to encourage others, offering understanding without judgment and hope without hesitation. Her voice is a vital addition to the leadership team, helping guide the ministry with wisdom rooted in real-life struggle and God-given transformation.
